amazon web services - CloudFront distribution not showing as Route53 alias target -

i’m trying add route 53 record set points cloudfront distribution. however, when select ‘create record set’ in route 53 , click alias target in subsequent panel, cloud front distribution not listed. ‘no targets available’. distribution has been created , enabled (and working). have added cname distribution same domain name i’m setting in route53, still doesn’t show.

how distribution show in alias target field can point route53 ‘a’ record it?

make sure it's record rather cname record (weird, know). found buried in documentation here:
